Why most short-form scripts fail
Two reasons, and both are mechanical rather than creative. The first is the hook: a video that opens with "Hey guys, so today I wanted to talk about" has already spent its most valuable three seconds on nothing. The feed is a competition for attention that is decided before the sentence finishes. The second is length. A script written without a word budget reads fine on a page and cannot be delivered in the time available, so the recording either rushes or runs long. Both kill retention, and retention is what the algorithm is measuring.
